The week before accepting my new position, Yogi came into town for a couple nights, then went up to the Berkshires to visit his mom, where I joined him and his family for a really lovely day. We rented a little party boat and took it out on a gorgeous lake and spent the day chilling in the sunshine.

Not the boat we took.

Setting off on the party boat with Yogs at the wheel.

We spent hours on the boat feasting and hanging out and headed back to shore by the time the sun set. Then we sat down for a most amazing dinner at the restaurant at Yogi's mom's bed and breakfast. Course after amazing course of delicious food was sat down in front of us -- probably one of the best meals of my entire life (yes, I say this after practically every hamburger, but really, this meal is indisputed in the top 10. OK?)

Yogi's cousin, ChloƩ, who I'd met years before in San Francisco and her boyfriend Josh.
The next week flew by. That Friday I went to Rebel with Jes and Rufus to see DJ Hype spin.

Jes and Rufus, feelin the love.

It was probably one of the best dnb nights I've been to in a long time -- so good that I took out my earplugs halfway through and suffered through a week (yes, a week) of ringing ears. So I think investing in a good pair of earplugs would be smart.
Anyhoo the next night I headed over to Bushwick to meet up with Rachel and some of her friends, then we took the L back to Williamsburg to go to a Trouble & Bass party somewhere.

Rachel, Greg, and Barrett.

So shyyyyyyyyy.

"Dollah dollah bills, y'all!!!"
"Actually, four of them."

After this crazy fun weekend I started my job on Monday and worked for a couple days before flying back to San Francisco for a long weekend where I basically crawled into the cocoon of happiness that is my parents' house and spent the majority of my time driving around the suburbs of Marin listening to bad dance music on the radio, going to the mall and trying to muster the energy to get out of the world's most comfortable bed (the one my parents put in my bedroom. Note that they put this bed in there long after I moved out. Basically in addition to being this massive comfy bed, it's covered in the world's softest sheets, a warm comforter, and has a soft headboard that you can sink into and read Calvin and Hobbes books in all night long. Heaven!)
I did manage to make it out one night and met up with Rob and Erin at CAV on Market Street for some wine, then headed to the Mission to meet up with John and Josh.

John's dope shirt.

"Jenne, if any of these photos end up on your blog I am going to be very annoyed."

I hate my eyebrow. :-(

"Here, if I pose awkwardly no one will notice my eyebrow is still messed up."

The next night I met up with Peter for a tea, and then headed off to a bar in San Rafael where I observed the outbreak of a real bar brawl. It was like being back in the country, y'all!
On Sunday my dad and I went on a nice long hike on Mt. Tam, down the Matt Davis trail to Stinson Beach where we enjoyed a delicious lunch, and then back up Steep Ravine through the Redwood trees to the car. Such a great day, totally therapeutic and good to feel like I was breathing again. Love the city but I need some nature here and there.
Anyways after stuffing myself with about one thousand homemade chocolate chip cookies I was feeling plenty nourished and ready to return to New York. Since then, things have been pretty good. Within a week of returning I came down with a bad cold which kept me indoors a lot, then learned my super sweet dog Fen was put to sleep at 16 years old. Meanwhile my mom came into town and I had a really nice dinner with her, my Grandma and my Aunt Sarah. My dad arrived a few days later so we could all go to my Uncle Dave's birthday dinner up in the Bronx, which was another fun family affair because I got to see a bunch of family. Photos of that night to come! Besos!! xoxo
